The launch for this year's New Ross Piano Festival took place on Wednesday, August 23, on the Dunbrody famine ship in New Ross, the guest speaker was Ambassador István Pálffy. The 12th New Ross Piano Festival features Hungarian music, especially from Kodály and Bartók. Several Hungarian musicians are travelling to the town to perform a wide range of piano and chamber music during the festival in September.
