In cooperation with the European Commission Representation in Ireland, the Embassy of Hungary hosted the National Defence Day reception on May 19, and Colonel József Gulyás, Defence Attaché resident in London opened the Hungarian Freedom Fighters Photographic Exhibition. The exhibition presents the heroes of the two legendary revolutions and war for independence in Hungarian history (1848, 1956), bringing together the vintage portraits of the fighters from the 19th and 20th centuries. Thanks to the photographers - József Plohn in 1902 and Mihály Dömötör in 2006 - the Hungarians unconditional desire for freedom is well reflected in these faces, and these faces will remain with us.
