Dear Visitor,
I am pleased to welcome you to the official website of the Embassy of Hungary in Dublin.
Our countries have enjoyed a close and mutually beneficial relationship for decades, which has been continuously enhanced through historical ties, economic cooperation and cultural dialogue. My aim is to further strengthen this relationship, open up new opportunities and contribute to the flourishing of Hungarian-Irish cooperation in all areas.
In addition to fostering diplomatic relations, I pay particular attention to the development of economic cooperation. There is considerable potential in the economic and technological partnership between the two countries, which we would like to promote together.
Cultural life has always been a bridge between nations. Ireland and Hungary have a rich tradition and a vibrant arts scene. Thus, I am happy to support cultural projects that help bring people from both countries closer together. Hungarian literature, music, film and fine arts are attracting increasing interest in Ireland, and I believe that these links will strengthen the bonds between people.
The Hungarian community in Ireland is a valuable and active part of our bilateral relations. Our compatriots working and studying on the Emerald Isle make a significant contribution to the social and economic life of both Hungary and Ireland. The aim of our Embassy and its Consular Office is to support the Hungarian community, to help preserve Hungarian cultural identity and to facilitate contacts between Hungarians living in Ireland.
We are happy to be at your disposal and I encourage you to contact us with any questions or suggestions you may have.
Ambassador Gergely Bánhegyi
