The Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival 2021 launches
The festival will be held between 3rd and 14th March, for the first time, entirely online. Under the series of programmes - introduced by Festival Director Grainne Humphreys - there will be more than 60 movies screened from 25 countries. It is our great pleasure that ”Preparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time” from director Lili Horvát will be screened. The movie is Hungary’s entry for Best International Feature Film at this year’s Oscars. The film is shown with the support of the Embassy of Hungary, Dublin.
Márta, a forty-year-old neurosurgeon, falls in love. She leaves her shining American career behind and returns to Budapest to start a new life with Dr. János Drexler. Yet when she arrives at their agreed-upon meeting point — the Pest end of Budapest’s Liberty Bridge — he doesn’t show up. Marta desperately starts to search for him and when she tracks him down at the nearby medical institute, he claims to not know who she is. Marta starts to doubt herself. Maybe he longed for the man so much that only her imagination plays with her? She decides not to go back to America, rather she takes a job at a local hospital and start to investigate after the man.
The Hungarian film will be available from 9 March, 7 pm GMT (after that you will have 72 hours to start watching the film and 30 hours to finish watching it). More information about it can be found here.
