In 2016 we celebrated the 40th anniversary of establishing bilateral diplomatic relations with Ireland. We are delighted that after the years of the recent economic downturn the bilateral dialogue between our countries has intensified in the form of more considerable exports, imports, investment and business delegations, as well as more frequent visits of our government officials respectively to Budapest and Dublin. During these visits and business forums we focus on reaching out to the business community to provide fresh information concerning the actual status of the Hungarian economy, our achievements, main sectors of industry, our foreign trade, etc. We introduce the goals and activities of the Hungarian National Trading House and HIPA, the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency. Our aim is to provide a general picture of Hungary as a business partner and we would like to meet local businessmen who are interested in doing business in our region, who might be interested in importing and distributing Hungarian products in Ireland. We are also looking for Irish companies thinking about expanding their activities in the CEE region and use our country as a logistic hub or manufacturing site. We would like to share with you some business proposals too.

Potential investors and companies thinking about expanding their activities may contact the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency. HIPAprovides professional help to foreign companies intending to invest in Hungary. Their task is to support the implementation of the Government’s key investment promotion targets and to foster bilateral and multilateral international economic relations.

In Ireland the Irish Hungarian Business Association (IHBA) promotes two-way investment, trade, and tourism between Hungary and Ireland. It offers exclusive access for members to key Hungarian political administrative and business personnel visiting Ireland, with the possibility of also arranging private meetings; business and trade missions to and from Hungary and special seminars and briefings on important topics relevant to business. Annual membership is available for 40/125 Euro for an individual/SME and 250 Euro for a corporate subscription.
